Enter the fascinating world of illusions at Art in Paradise where you will be thrilled by intriguing visuals and beautiful murals you can jump into and strike a pose.
Located in Chiang Mai, Art in Paradise was created by Korean artists. It is a museum of illusions that offers an interactive, immersive and fun experience for children, parents, couples, grandmothers and grandfathers - a perfect, unusual and exciting place for all generations! Amusing and awesome aristic tricks will teach you about vision, perception, the human brain and science, so it will be easier to perceive why your eyes see things which your brain cannot understand!
Through 11 large rooms, housing more than 150 pictures, you will travel to Paris, London, Rome; you will also discover the underwater sea world and jump in the shark's mouth or ride a whale or a giant turtle. In the jungle room you will meet with orang outang, white tigers, snakes and many more animals. In the Egyptian room, you will be able to sit on the Pharaoh’s Throne and take a close look at the intriguing hieroglyphics. There is the Asian Room with paintings of beautiful Thai elephants, the famous Ramakian, the secret Angkor temple, the mount Fuji and much more... Children will love the Fantasy Room, where they will play with Alice in Wonderland and Elsa in her frozen castle.
The Upside-Down Room is another very fun place for all ages. In this room the illusion takes you into a home where all the furniture is on the ceiling. Imagine the fun photos you will send to your friends from there!
In addition to all these fun rooms, there is Lego World, housing the largest Lego city you will have probably ever seen. The train, boats, buildings and people are all moving and skillfully illuminated. It took six months for the artists at Art In Paradise to build this Lego World and on its own is worth the entrance fee.
Last but not least, at the end of your visit, the Museum’s Café is decorated only in black and white, and is reminiscent of a cartoon book. Tables, counters, walls are all hand painted to give the illusion of sitting in your favourite cartoon book. But it’s real and their drinks, cakes and dishes are delicious, and offered at very affordable prices.
Visiting Art in Paradise takes around 2 to 3 hours. There is no particular order to visit and you can go back to any previous room as much as you wish. The museum has a QR code at the entry counter, scan it and check out their pictures showing you the best or funniest pose for each scene. Friendly staff is also ready to help you taking the best pictures, just ask for their help at the entry counter (it is a free service)
