ARTISANS AT WORK

What makes Chiang Mai so special is that the city presents so many crafts that are made by local hands

Known as the “northern rose”, Thailand’s second largest city continues to bloom. Aside from beautiful mountain views and unique temples, Chiang Mai is known
worldwide for its well-designed distinctive arts and crafts. Today, these traditional forms are being improvised by younger and a more fashionable generations who have learned to combine rich traditions with trendy designs. The results are new handicrafts that are original, contemporary and cutting edge.

But what makes Chiang Mai so special is that all these crafts are made by local hands. In this issue of Chang Puak magazine, we would like to highlight some of these creative spirits.
