High above Chiang Mai, people sit and talk on picnic mats outside their tents in the late afternoon sunshine. When night falls, they huddle in blankets and jumpers to enjoy the cool mountain air.
Camping at Doi Pui Campground is a delightful, walletfriendly way to experience Northern-Thai paradise. The Doi Pui Campsite offers cheap tents to rent, sleeping mats and oil lanterns. They also have a canteen and a shop for essentials like toilet roll, water and instant coffee sachets. Water in the shower is freezing cold, but it will revitalise you!
From Doi Pui Campground you can visit Doi Suthep Temple and Phuping Palace. You can also stop for a coffee at the coffee research station and continue to a hill tribe village, where you’ll meet locals wearing traditional hill tribe clothes. From Chiang Mai Old City, it takes less than an hour to drive to the campsite.
