The Bua Tong is a yellow or orange flower, which is similar to sunflowers. When this flower blooms, the hills and valleys of Mae Hong Son turn yellow.
Bua Tong flowers bloom from November to December. Doi Mae U-Kor mountain in Khun Yuam district is considered the largest and most beautiful location to see these flowers in bloom.

Shambhala in Your Heart Festival is a great music festival with activities such as music, dance, arts, crafts, camping, campfires, yoga, meditation and so much more. The event takes place in the picturesque and quiet area of Chiang Dao (one hour’s drive from Chiang Mai). This family style festival is just wonderful! Organized by a small Japanese hippie community that lives in the area, the festival lasts for a week and every day is different, with day time activities such as art and yoga courses and night time live performances.
