ITALIAN SCREENS CURTAIN RAISER: Unveiling Italian Cinema in Chiang Mai
December 18-19 & 20, 2023 at SFF Maya

The Italian Directorate General for Cinema and Audiovisual of the Italian Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Cinecittà, the Academy of Italian Cinema - David di Donatello Award, and the Honorary Consulate of Italy in Chiang Mai are delighted to present the inaugural ITALIAN SCREENS CURTAIN RAISER in Chiang Mai.

This exciting event will showcase a curated selection of Italian films for three days, with all screenings complimentary to the public.

Monday, December 18th

6:00 PM: Grand Opening Ceremony
7:00 PM: Screening of NOSTALGIA (2022), directed by Mario Martone

Tuesday, December 19th

6:00 PM: Screening of TI MANGIO IL CUORE (2022), directed by Pippo Mezzapesa (Cinema 3)
8:00 PM: Screening of L'IMMENSITÀ (2022), directed by Emanuele Crialese (Cinema 3)

Wednesday, December 20th

6:00 PM: Screening of SETTEMBRE (2022), directed by Giulia Louise Steigerwalt (Cinema 3)
8:00 PM: Screening of IL SIGNORE DELLE FORMICHE (2022), directed by Gianni Amelio (Cinema 3)

The opening night on Monday, December 18th, will welcome esteemed guests, including distinguished citizens of Chiang Mai, VIPs such as the Governor of Chiang Mai, Consuls and Honorary Consuls from various nations, Chiang Mai's Mayor and relevant authorities, representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and the Tourism Business Association. The ceremony will also be graced by a special performance of classic Italian bel canto repertoire.
