First, discover Khao Soy. This dish is influenced by Burmese recipes. It is a coconut-curry soup-like dish made with a mix of deep-fried crispy noodles and egg noodles, meat, pickled mustard greens, shallots and lime.
Another local specialty is the Sai Uwa (grilled herb sausage) to be enjoyed with sticky rice.
Tam Khanun (young jackfruit salad) is another delicacy: refreshingly spicy, nutty and flavorsome, this healthy northern dish will wake you up from any slumber.
For the adventurous, try the red or green chili dip, made with roasted chili spur peppers. It will leave your tongue burning after only the first bite, but it is so delicious!
