If you are a pastry lover, then you have to visit Saruda Finest Pastry, on Nimmanhaemin soi 3. Newly opened, this delicate shop was named after, Saruda, the pastry Chef who creates there everyday.
Saruda is a thoughtful Thai pastry Chef, with great imagination. For more than ten years, she has been the pastry Chef behind each desserts at Mix Restaurant. Today, after taking extra courses with famous pastry chef Cedric Grolet (elected “World’s Best Restaurant Pastry Chef 2017-2018” and Chef Pâtissier at Le Meurice- Alain Ducasse Restaurant, Paris) she creates fascinating cakes and fruit sculptures, available to eat in or take away only at Saruda Finest Pastry.
A mandarin is a mandarin, except when it’s a dessert at Saruda Finest Pastry. Here mangoes and mandarins are actually an impossibly thin shell of lacquered white chocolate, which cracks open to reveal layers of fluffy ganache and spiced fruits.
Another “must-taste” pastry is Mr. Autumn, Saruda’s favorite dessert: 70% chocolate mousse, caramel hazelnut, chocolate biscuit and alpaco ganache... a cake you cannot leave Chiang Mai without tasting it!
Banana lovers will love the Dulcey Banana: valrhona dulcey mousse, soft caramel, banana compote and banana cake. All together, a total of twenty unique cakes and pastries are to be discovered at Saruda, along with the perfect selection of teas from around the world.
Like couture, haute pâtisserie makes an impression. At Saruda, not only the confections are sensuous and sculptural, the atmosphere is also soft and unique. The minimalist tearoom exudes a calming zen and provides a canvas for its daring yet delicious pâtisseries to take spotlight.
