We go to coffee shops, not only for our daily fix of caffeine, but also to relax, meet with friends, work on our computers from a beautiful environment or just sit and enjoy great places and new vibes. In this issue of Chang Puak Magazine, we have selected a series of charming coffee shops, which have to be visited not only for their house drinks but mostly for their unique, fun and sometimes surprising atmosphere.
1. HILLSBOROUGH CAFE & HOTEL
Travel to England at Hillsborough! Surrounded by rows of mountains, rejuvenating green forest, crystal clear creeks and gently flowing streams of mist, Hillsborough Cafe and Hotel is a quiet and relaxing place to enjoy a nice cup of tea. This very British property offers a coffee place where you can choose between comfortable air-conditioned seating or sit outside to view the stunning scenery of the garden, the creek, and the beautiful English country house styled building.
To reach the hotel take Hangdong-Samoeng road and pass Suan Bua Resort. The hotel is located about 150 meters beside the American Pacific International School.

2. CARP CAFÉ
Have a drink surrounded by hundreds of carp fish. This must be the only place in Thailand that has so many fish in one place. At Carp Cafe, tables are nestled around the fish pond so you can see the fish swimming by, or you can choose to seat at tables transformed into waterfalls. The back of this cafe also houses a magical little garden featuring trees, ferns and mosses.
Carp Cafe is located close to the Chiang Mai Night Safari. It offers coffee, cakes and Japanese cuisine, but we advise you to stick with the coffee, sodas and fruit juices. It is a nice place to go with family and friends but if you are visiting with very little kids or seniors this might not be the safest place to go (walkways can be dangerous to walk around sometimes). Meanwhile it is a surprising place that needs to be visited at least once.

3/ MARS.CNX
Travel to Mars without leaving Chiang Mai’s old city. Mars.Cnx is located along the moat and is one of the trendy coffee places from which everyone is posting pictures. It is another place that has to be visited in Chiang Mai, at least once.
Mars.Cnx: 27/12 Arak Rd. ChiangMai.
