Newly opened this past June, Tiger Kingdom Learning Center currently operates within more than 160,000 square meters of a beautiful and natural habitat for tigers in the Mae Taeng area. Once their tigers have reached maturity, they are moved to this center which focuses on education and research.
Experience this new adventure by rolling up your sleeves and signing for a one day “Tiger Keeper for a Day” activity: you will become a member of their team and work with them. You will also be given exclusive behind-the scenes access to their mature tigers from day-to-day tiger health care and cleaning the cages, to feeding the tigers and participating in their enrichment program. This is a one day activity of joy and excitement. Discovery that awaits you! Your day will start with a pick up at your hotel around 7.30 am, followed by a 40km drive to the green mountains of Chiang Mai. Upon arrival you will change into a
Tiger Kingdom’s uniform, grab a drink and get acquainted with your guide. The next step of the day is to meet with all forty five beautiful tigers and to make sure their territories are spotless! An inspection of each animal’s night enclosure is done. After that you will learn about animal’s feeding habits and show off your culinary skills by preparing the tiger’s dinner and their frozen treats in the Nutrition Zone.
Stimulation is very important in tiger’s life so, later in the day, you will create enrichment toys for them to play with. Then you will watch them play with it in their open air space.
Going through each activity, your memories will be stamped in your free Tiger
Kingdom Souvenir Passport; each stamp promises unforgettable good memories.
Lunch is served at the Eco Hut, a traditional bamboo house decorated with accessories used in farmers’ daily life. You will savor delicious Thai cuisine served on a Kantoke. A Kantoke is a short, round table used in Northern Thailand. Fruits, vegetables and herbs used in the making of each dish come from Tiger Kingdom’s Eco Garden which will be visited later in the afternoon. The Eco Garden is taken care by all team members from Tiger Kingdom Learning Center and they take pride in using sustainability policies and practices as daily operations.
After picking up some herbs in the garden and playing with the seven buffaloes, which have been saved from slaughterhouse and realeased in the center by owner Mrs Mod, you will walk back to the tigers’s territory and watch them roam and play together. Not long after that arrives the feeding time - an unforgettable moment.
All through the day you will be guided through every activity by professionals guaranteing a safe and exciting experience. A free photographer will also make sure you can really concentrate and enjoy your day, so he will follow you through the day and give you a cd of your best moments there.
