This month, from January 26 to 29, 2023, don't miss the "World Tea & Coffee Expo", an exceptional exhibition dedicated to professionals and tea/coffee lovers.
Organized in Chiang Mai, at One Nimman, one of the most prominent shopping centers in the city, this international event is realized by the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (public sector) also called TCEB. The Northern province of Chiang Mai generates the largest revenue from tea and coffee production in the country, and it is an honor and a great opportunity for the city to have been selected to host this event.
As the market of tea and coffee industries generate billions of annual revenues, TCEB decided to select the city of Chiang Mai for this great exhibition and promote it as "the birthplace of world famous tea and coffee". This project was born in 2020 and this year is the third year of the exhibition. Each year the event becomes stronger and more important, welcoming many local and international visitors and exhibitors.
A cup of success.
The "World Tea & Coffee 2023" exhibition, organized under the concept "A Cup of Success", highlights the giant strides made by the tea and coffee industry in Thailand in recent years. This exhibition brings together all the actors of the two sectors and provides visitors and professionals (roasters, coffee shops, baristas, mass distribution players) with real experiences and discoveries related to the worlds of tea and coffee. In Thailand, the sector is constantly growing! The kingdom has many producers and roasters, with the emergence in recent years of new tasting methods (slow coffee, herbal teas, drinks and cocktails, food-coffee pairings, tea dishes, tea-inspired dinners, etc.), new places tastings, new trends... The event consists of two parts: the exhibition/sale of tea and coffee products and the conference "The 3rd Tea and Coffee International Symposium".
B2B2C: pending trading opportunities.
This year, the "World Tea & Coffee Expo 2023" will include forty-five tea and coffee entrepreneurs from Chiang Mai and other regions, along with five foreign entrepreneurs, a total of fifty exhibitors. Each exhibitor is extremely qualified and respects the standards set by TCEB, whether in terms of credibility, quality and innovation during the manufacturing process. The organizers have also imagined B2B (Business-to-Business) business pairings: twenty Thai business partners, and five producers from oversea countries will join the event and participate online and on site.
After a long wait due to the COVID-19 situation, the country is now ready to show the world its progress in tea and coffee production. The organizers have respected all recommendations from the Ministry of Health, such as a modern organization in a large airy space; and that is the reason why the fair is held at One Nimman, which is known for its professionalism and proper architecture. Organizers estimate that the show will generate more than ten million Thai Baht in revenue, including eight million for trade negotiations and two million for organizational costs.
Many Thai and international coffee and tea experts have been invited to this event which will also have the honor of receiving the visit of overseas Consuls in Chiang Mai.
The theme of the conference “A Cup of Success: The success of the tea and coffee business in Thailand” will be divided into three parts:

This meeting will be in a hybrid format: both online and offline.
During the press conference, on January 19, 2023, an agreement was signed between the various partners in order to move forward hand in hand and develop the production of coffee and tea from northern Thailand on a global level. This agreement was signed by Chiang Mai Province, Region 1 Industrial Promotion Center, Industrial Promotion Department, Agricultural Department of Chiang Mai City, Provincial Industrial Bureau, Tourist Authority of Thailand, Chiang Mai University Food Innovation Center, Mae Fah Luang University Tea and Coffee Institute, Thai Specialty Coffee Association, Thai Coffee Association and ASEAN Tea Organization (ATO).

Ce mois-ci, du 26 au 29 janvier 2023, ne manquez pas le « World Tea & Coffee Expo », un salon exceptionnel dédié aux amateurs et aux professionnels du thé et du café.
Organisé à Chiang Mai, au One Nimman, un des centres commerciaux les plus en vue de la ville, cet évènement international est planifié par le Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (un organisme public) aussi appelé TCEB. Un honneur et une grande opportunité pour la ville de Chiang Mai qui fut sélectionnée pour accueillir cet évènement, car la province génère le plus important revenu de production de thé et de café du pays.
C’est en s’intéressant aux milliards de revenus annuels que rapporte l’industrie du thé et du café que TCEB à décidé de sélectionner la ville de Chiang Mai pour son exposition, afin de promouvoir la région du nord de la Thaïlande en tant que « le berceau du thé et du café de renommée mondiale ». Ce projet est né en 2020 au sein de TCEB afin de développer cette industrie. 2023 est la troisième année d’exposition et chaque année l’évènement devient plus fort et plus important, accueillant de nombreux visiteurs et exposants.
Une tasse de succès.
Le salon « World Tea & Coffee 2023 » organisé sous le concept "Une Tasse de Succès", met l’accent sur les pas de géant réalisé par l’industrie du thé et du café en Thaïlande ces dernières années. Ce salon rassemblera tous les acteurs des deux filières afin d’apporter aux visiteurs et aux professionnels (torréfacteurs, coffee shops, barista, acteurs de la grande distribution) de réelles expériences et découvertes liées aux mondes du thé et du café. En Thaïlande, la filière est en constant essor ! Le royaume comptabilise de nombreux producteurs et torréfacteurs, avec une émergence ces dernières années de nouvelles méthodes de dégustation (slow coffee, herbal teas, boissons et cocktails, accords mets-café, mets-the, tea inspired dinner etc.), de nouveaux lieux de dégustations, de nouvelles tendances… L’évènement est constitué de deux parties : l’exposition/vente de produits issus du thé et du café et la conférence "The 3rd Tea and Coffee International Symposium".
B2B2C: des opportunités de trading en attente.
L’exposition « World Tea & Coffee Expo 2023 » comptabilise cette année quarante-cinq entrepreneurs du thé et du café de Chiang Mai et d’autres régions, ainsi que cinq entrepreneurs étrangers, totalisant cinquante exposants. Tous extrêmement qualifiés et respectant les normes fixées par TCEB, que ce soit en termes de crédibilité, de qualité et d’innovation lors du processus de fabrication. Les organisateurs ont aussi imaginé des jumelages d’entreprises B2B (Business-to-Business). Vingt partenaires commerciaux Thaïlandais, ainsi que cinq de pays étranger se joindront à l’évènement et participeront en ligne et sur place.
Après une longue attente due à la situation de COVID-19, l’économie est maintenant en voix d’expansion et l’organisation du salon respecte les recommandations du Ministère de la Sante, à savoir : une organisation moderne dans un large espace aéré. Et c’est pourquoi le salon a été organisé dans le centre commercial One Nimman, qui est connu pour son professionnalisme et son architecture adéquate. Les organisateurs estiment que le salon génèrera plus de dix millions de baht de revenus dont huit millions pour les négociations commerciales et deux millions pour les frais d’organisation.
Pour la conférence internationale du thé et du café, de nombreux experts Thaïlandais et internationaux ont étés invités. L’évènement aura aussi l’honneur de recevoir la visite nombreux Consuls en place à Chiang Mai. Le thème de la conférence « Une Tasse de Succès : le succès du commerce du thé et du café en Thaïlande » sera divisé en trois parties :
Un autre point sera présenté lors de cette conférence : les opportunités pour les marchés du thé et du café de dynamiser l’industrie du tourisme.
Cette rencontre sera en format hybride : à la fois en ligne et hors ligne.
Lors de la conférence de presse du 19 janvier 2023, un accord fut signé entre les différents partenaires afin d’avancer main dans la main et de développer la production de café et de thé du nord de la Thaïlande à un niveau mondial. Cet accord fut signé par la province de Chiang Mai, le centre de Promotion Région Industrielle 1, le Département de la Promotion Industrielle, le Département Agricole de la ville de Chiang Mai, le Bureau Industriel de la Province, les Autorité Touristiques de Thaïlande, le Centre d'Innovation Alimentaire de l’Université de Chiang Mai, l’Institut du thé et du café de l’Université Mae Fah Luang, l’Association Thai Specialty Coffee, l’Association Thai Coffee et l’ASEAN Tea Organization (ATO).
